A moth to a flame, they dance the night
A bite to a sin, the fire ignites
Hazy eyes from burning desire
“Hallelujah”, sings the choir
Carnal pursuit— a worship to Eros
Thorn-laced soul to taste a rose
On a moonlit night, waltz to paradise
At the break of dawn, pay the price

Beautiful and fascinating piece. The choir sings their Hallelujahs or praise God joyfully, while the lovers dance, something sinful and Carmel about it — “a worship of Eros” a Greek god, not God. Perhaps a fascination with love, more of the physical, and less of the spiritual and the one who loved us, so we can love.
