there used to be something here
storied sentinels carrying secrets of old
the earth laced by their gnarned roots
dappled sunlight carpeted the forest floor

amid these towering giants,
a tapestry of life flourishes:
from the curious plants never seen before
to the strangest denizens that call this woodland home

here, time stops
dreams take flight
peace resides

used to.
