Hear, hear
A Tanaga

Lofty trees cut to timbers
A world rid of verdant green
Forests burn down to cinders
The worst nightmare she has seen

Listen to the Earth’s whimpers
Over greed let kindness win
Breathe the air, hear the twitters
Paint this planet evergreen

Hear, hear.

We’ve come to the point where there’s no turning back,
This is a nemesis game where the loser gets mocked
A tug-of-war between earth and us
On whoever turns first into dust.

We’re all aware of this nature’s indignation
We can nag and whine but must face it’s derision
For being cavaliers with iniquitous acts
All these pointless avarice that we should’ve sacked.

This is the time where we must reflect
This chance of change we mustn’t reject
We’re simple parasites in this earth, don’t deny
It doesn’t plead merit but of respect it cries.

After all these pains, we really should not drain
Whatever that is left from the earth is our gain
We’re all just petty dwellers, enjoying our may
Take time to pray instead of fray.
