Lost and Barren
A Lyrette
Find me
At the heart
Of fogs and mists
Where cruel silence creeps
In its cradle
I lay my
Lost soul
~
Within
The borders
Of verdant greens
And heedless forests
Old mem’ries reel
Leaving me
Barren

oh myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. oh my.
this is beautiful, but so sad.
I hope the mind and the heart that was left, will soon learn how to un-remember.

I hope she does, too… Or better yet, I hope somebody finds her amidst it all. 🙂 ❤

I love the change in colour, from the grey of fogs and mists to the green of verdant forests, tinged by the lost soul and barrenness of the last line of each stanza. Your poem left me with a chill.

Like Kim, the change from grey to green, lends a measure of hope to a sad poem. Well written to the picture.

The words “cruel silence” and “barren” stood out for me. This speaker sounds hopeless.

She is.. Sometimes, a cruel silence could hurt a thousand times than some cruel words. Thanks, Mandi!

Your poem reminded me of dark night of the soul. I do hope that the barren, at the end, become full with healing light!

Sad but beautifully written. The shape of the stanzas was a great touch and adds an aesthetic appeal to the poem. 🙂
