Tough Love
A Free Verse
Let your love burn like lava
Scorching in fiery orange
Do not fear that I will tremble
Or worse, that I will hide
For I’ll be the grayish-blue ocean
Refusing to let go of the shore
Devour me along with the sands
Let the world melt away
Into a clutter of noise

Maria, there’s something special about your poetry. You have such a strong grip of words that as a reader I never lose my interest while reading.
As always well crafted (:

I love that you’re becoming a regular participant in Grammar Ghouls! I’m working on this prompt too, but orange is not one of my favorite colors so it’s creating a bit of a writer’s block for me lol. I see it hasn’t for you. Great poem, Maria 😀

I find their prompts interesting although there are only a few participants. (How could that be? It’s awesome! Not to mention the cute graphics that I love! ^^) Oh, I’ll be looking forward to your entry, Jade! Haha. Orange is not my color too but I find the image interesting. 😀

I know exactly what you mean! I find the whole site so unique, I love their little ghouly characters, and the prompts are quirky and fun. I’m having serious trouble with this orange lava fiasco but I will persevere. *battle cry!*

Nice image love melting into the ocean and melding with if as your couple in this poem does. Great poem!
