Valentines Day

Twenty-four

For years I have stopped asking for more

For there’s nothing else I could possibly ask for

When, on Earth, I’m one of the richest person

With a happy heart and a happy soul

I have a treasure box of memories

Of the good times and even some bad ones

Friends whose worth are more than gold

And a family whose greatest wealth is love

But most of all, a loving God

Who never failed to protect me

Lend a hand when I needed strength

Who, despite my flaws, stick until the very end

The 15th of February is my very own Valentine’s Day

A day that reminds me where real bliss lies

For my riches are in people, my treasures are in love

What more could I possibly ask for

When I have more than enough at twenty-four.

Sending everyone  kisses and smiles. Please, go on, take a slice! ❤ ❤ ❤

Our Valentine’s

PHOTO PROMPT © The Reclining Gentleman

The sun was already up when Julio found his wife watering the flowerbeds in the garden. “Happy Valentine’s Day, my love.” He whispered, wrapping his arms around her waist.

“Oh!” Lora shrieked in surprise, “Look who’s awake. Happy Valentine’s, sleepyhead.”

“I intend to make you breakfast.”

“You intend.”

They were about to kiss when a little voice called out from behind. Maxie was staring quizzically at her grandparents then muttered, “It’s August 12, not February 14 grandma!”

“Oh, sweetie, but today is OUR Valentine’s Day. It’s the day a certain mailman brought Valentine to me in an envelope.” Lora explained and winked.

“A handsome mailman, he was.” her husband added.

Cupid

Some of you don’t believe in me. Thinking I’m just a cherub with a bow and arrow; a mere figment of your imagination. Most, however, does still believe in my existence- some are happy, some are hopeful, some are impatient, while others blame me for a mismatch. But let me tell you this: I always pull my arrow at the right time and the right place towards the right people. And I never miss.

Take these two strangers for instance. Meredith, a  charming ballerina who loves cats; and Rite, a kind, science geek who plays guitar. Today is their fated day. In this park, at that very bench for two.

Look closely.

***

Seconds later, a boy and a girl from opposite sides went for the red bench.

Locked gazes. Shy smiles.

***

Now that’s a good start. Nine years, nine months, and nine days later they’ll be walking down the aisle. But for now, I’ll leave the rest up to them.
