Scribblings and scrawls of a hopeless romantic soul

Coruscant Soul
A Free Verse

Forces of the world
Hammered her soul—
Failures, setbacks, and life’s puzzles
Failures burnt in smoldering heat
Shackled by setbacks, constant defeat
Lost in the void of life’s puzzles
Yet she surfaced like a crystal
Shining after searing fire—
Glaring and bright
A coruscant soul
Forged after chains of
Breakdowns and cries.

In response to Shapeshifting 13 #52 KICKOFF: This week, in exactly 52 words, your challenge is to write a story or poem inspired by and using the following word(s):

April has been a hiatus for me and I only managed to finish two colors (Red and Orange) for  the series, Ghouls on Rainbows. This month, may the force be with us all so we may dwell in blog-o-sphere in peace and harmony. *fingers crossed* Happy to be back in the shapeshifting world! 😀

P is for Pikit-mata

The sky is dark glittered by the shimmering stars. The air is still. I dream of a faraway land where no one can reach me. Perhaps, a field of prickly green grasses where not a soul had been seen for centuries or a desolate ruin long forgotten where I will wallow in solitude. Beneath a hundred thousand stars with my eyes closed, I surrender. I surrender all my woes. I surrender all my fears. I surrender all my inhibitions. I surrender all my doubts. Amidst the embrace of the cold night with only the whistling of the wind, the rustling of the trees, and the silence of my beating heart, I gave in to life’s infinite paradox.

Mind numb from thinking
Fighting battles from within
Stop and heed His will

L is for Lakas ng loob

GIF source: Wordstuck

Lakas ng loob refers to one’s courage or bravado.

Most days things crumble to nothingness
And she’s pushed to stumble and fall
All alone— on her feet wounded
Layers of bruises and scars
Left to dwell on rotten breakdowns
Staring at the mirror— soul in shards
Most days she’s scared and terrified
But she lives and survives; fight a good fight

Fortune Favors the Brave

© Huffington Post

Fortune favors the brave
Stop wishing; start doing
Do not fear what you do not know
Unleash your life force
Let your fantasies unwind
Good things take time
The best is yet to come
Become who you are
Pick a path with heart—
Never quit;
See the light at the end of the tunnel
Affirm it, visualize it, believe it, and it will actualize itself.

Poetry Form: Found Poem

Day 13: The number 13 is often considered unlucky, so today I’d like to challenge you to beat the bad luck away with a poem inspired by fortune cookies.

Picked these fortune cookie messages for all of you. Have a lucky day, everyone! 🙂 🙂 🙂

D is for Dadirri

GIF source: Wordstuck

Dadirri means inner, deep listening and quiet, still awareness. It is a ‘tuning in’ experience with the specific aim to come to a deeper understanding of the beauty of nature. Dadirri recognizes the inner spirit that calls us to reflection and contemplation of the wonders of all God’s creation. Within a deep silence we attempt to find the inner self, the perfect peace and the experience of God embracing us.

Beneath the sycamore tree, I rest
Amid the leaves of vivid browns, my nest
Listening to the buzzing bees
Unshackling the day’s worries and quests

The blue bird sings with the summer breeze
My heart and soul was put at ease
Calm and serene as the cerulean sky
Marveling the symphony of the trees

I stretched my hands way up high
Watched the herons glide and fly
Breathed the cool and crisp morning air
Ignored the seconds passing by

Like idle rabbits and untamed hares
I lay, in peace, my troubles and prayers
Letting go of my doubts and nightmares
A new beginning, the day declares

Beam of Hope

In the loneliest valleys, hope could hide

Ebbing until you have resigned and cried

Just when you’re about to quit

A beam of light, hope permits

Leading your way out, guiding side by side

Written for Mind and Life Matters’ Limerick Challenge Week 13: Hope

Lift your hands above

Feel your freedom like a dove

He’ll guide your plans, love

Written for Written for RonovanWrites’ haiku prompt #88: Lift & Plan

Today, I’m faced with one of my life’s crossroads that required me to choose between two paths. Making a choice is easy but making a wise one is hard. *sigh*

Written for Mind and Life Matters’ Limerick Challenge Week 11: Power

Stand up, be strong; hold it all together

You’re not alone, no matter the weather

When your fears are frightening

When you’re weary of fighting

Lay it all down; succumb to His power

Here’s to never giving up… Have a blessed day everyone!

If I should walk the path alone
Face the unknown
Brave the abyss
In clenching fists

I would walk with faith in my heart
Beam as I start
Follow your will
Let go and kneel

For you alone are my savior
You are my cure
The one healer
My redeemer
