One Sigh At A Time
I loosen my grip
Of your memories
One sigh at a time—
Join the crowd
To unhear the sound
Of your voice
Watch the city lights
To unsee the colors
Of your eyes
One sigh at a time
One step forward
To being free

Ohhhhh. “One sigh at a time” is just such a lovely thought. Like a breath, but deeper.

To unhear the sound of a voice and unsee the color of a person’s eyes, I wonder how long this takes. Lovely poem.

I like the idea that each sigh leads one to forgetting and freedom.

This was a wonderful piece! Loved the “one sigh at a time”. It takes a lot of them, doesn’t it? This is what I tried to capture in my “Letting Go Is Hard” too.

I love the pace of this poem. Reading it slows you down. Your words show there is so much to be found in a sigh Maria.

“Join the crowd
To unheard the sound”
^Is there a slight typo here? Did you mean to unhear?
Your poetry, as always, is soothing and poignant, dear Maria ❤
