Disillusion
I no longer chase men
Or strive to tie a broken string
This heart will not set sail again
On the ocean that took them away
Nor will I mirror past mistakes
For I have come to admit:
Whatever leaves, leave.
Whatever stays, stay.

It seems when you stop trying, or when you least expect it, something will creep in and change how you feel.

Oh I love this! Seems to me like Siemens’s who has tried and given her all and MRI win the past and is now just, over it.

Very true – but is the figure in the picture leaving or staying? (Or hoverng undecided?)

“I no longer chase men” good for you. for they should chase you. drop small flower petals for them to collect. let them show you they are worthy of you. their reward? the illusion they have won. the reality? you have been in control, all along. 🙂 one would be lucky to have you in his life.
a very good write.

lots of acceptance here of things you can control or can’t and that’s the first step in loving ourselves, we should be judged by any other standards then our own for love or life. Or strive to tie a broken string – my favourite line, this was master class juts by itself! sad but empowering!

Those last two lines Maria bring you into the moment. We deal with what we have to deal with. Great flow in the poem and picture to match.
