An Inch Closer: What lies beyond
You
And I
Together
Hearts tethered to
A moonlit desire—
A kiss away from hope
An inch closer to maybe
Unlock the door to the unknown
And, step by step, see what lies beyond
As one, let us make ruins feel like home.

Here’s an Etheree in response to dVerse’s Open Link Night hosted by the lovely Grace and Poets United Midweek Motif: The Door.
Also this is another sequel to my poems, An Inch Closer and An Inch Closer: Renegades..

Quite touching. Love can be scary but if both are willing to go forward, why not?

I couldn’t agree more, Sheena. One scary (risky but hopefully worth it) step forward is all it takes. 🙂

Despite the simple lyrics, there is some depth to the song I perceive. It has something to do with how we are shaped by time and experiences. Did I get it right?
