In the middle of the night, like a thief,
fear came with a bending sickle
and so here lie
the untold stories,
unwritten poems,
unsung songs,
unfulfilled dreams , and
unrealized greatness
an immeasurable wealth buried six feet beneath.

The depth, below, buried are our sins. great stuff, loved the eerie feel, in so little a space, you created darkness.

Oh! Unique and wonderful. Bravo! I remember a line from Laurie Anderson about it being like a whole library burning down when her father died.

Death comes for us all and takes what is most important to us. What could have been. Good one!

Brilliant Maria! That’s why we should live each day to the fullest and why we should never put off important things we could do today. Very good.

Ok so I’ll write in my second language and try to embrace the poetic mysticism which encloses secrets and mystery. Nothing can be left to chance or luck, there are no such things, but I, me myself are the ones who will open my own buried treasure and show what can not be seen or understood. (Nigri Drakós)
Love your secrets…

An excellent poem Maria. Wouldn’t it be great if we had the ability to read secrets taken to the grave, There would be enough writing material to last an eternity.

That is something to think about. The wealth of ideas and creativity that due with a person. Treasures but not in the traditional sense. I guess you really do leave it all behind in death.

Artists and creative minds do indeed have their own equivalent to ‘mess with the best, die like the rest’. Savior and friend ain’t the worst manifestations our own Death may come true by… And yes, a kind of prayer for the neglected artists and ignored muses IS due manifold.
