The Introvert’s Solace
Most people saw her as dark and gloomy
A somber prisoner in four walls
Little did they know she was bright and cheery
In the comfort of her nook she had it all
No stolen gazes from head to toe
Or honeyed words laced with a smile
Just solace from books, poems, and music
Amid the silence, the sound of her heartbeat.

Today’s Filipino word prompt is “kaulayaw” which refers to “a pleasant and intimate companion”.
I have the room for two days since my roommates are gone for the weekend. This means that my “kaulayaw” is none other than me, myself, and I. YAY! That gorgeous illustration above just summed the places I’ve been wanting to go. ❤
Come on! Write a poem or a fiction
Snap a photo under the sun
A six-word tale or a long post, perhaps?
Let’s all get word-high this July!
Want to join the fun? Find the prompt words HERE! Don’t forget to pingback & use the tag WordHighJuly. Mazel tov! 😉

You’re most welcome. Yes, I tend to become a recluse when I need some time alone.

I like this, she’s her own bestfriend, or rather her books/poems are. Nice one Maria 🙂

Thank you, Mandi! That’s exactly she is. I think, at times, being our very own “kaulayaw” is refreshing. We all need our “me-time”, right?

Thank you, Sam. That is so true. At most times, the most peaceful place one could ever be is with his/her self. 🙂

Ooh… cancelled plans means more “me-time”. Although I hope you get to push through most of your plans. 🙂 I’m at the recluse corner at the moment. It’s night time here. ^^

I totally understand! With all the construction going on at my home, we’re rethinking our homeschool and use of space in the house for the year. It’s all a process of growing and evolving, right? Thank you so much for the fun map!
