Let Go
An Octodil
Try not to hide
your hurt and pain
ignore and blink away
your grief, heartaches
for I see them concealed beneath
you empty and vacant gazes—
a smile may hide a lie
but the truth’s in your eyes

This one grips my heart, especially with the image above. Too many people are hiding terrible pain and feeling so very alone…I’ve been one of them before.

Aww… Same goes for me, dear. We all have tried tucking away our pain and sadness at some points in our lives and it takes courage to let them all go- let them all out. I hope you’re feeling a lot better now? (Your poems do send us a lot of kilig everyday) ❤

Thank you, D! So relieved hearing your words. I was worried my poem didn’t jive with the picture. Didn’t want to pick another image though since I fell for it at first sight. My praises to the photographer for capturing such picture with so much depth.

sad and beautiful poem but sometimes we all need to let go. It’s a sign of strength being able to drop things and people that hurt us.

That is a devastating picture. Too many people, many young folks, are taking their own lives. Your poem really hits on this terrible tragedy.

Thank you Pj. Saddening to know that people, mostly millennial, resort to suicide in times of trials and grief. Sigh.

It is so tragic, Maria. My niece was one of those people and it has devastated our family.

Thank you so much, Maria. I appreciate that. It has been several years now. Of course, years don’t take the pain and loss away.
