Wildfire
A Free Verse
We were
Flickering flames
Tiny budding flares
Burried deep within
Until love came
Swift as a thief
Igniting us with every gust
Turning flames into a wildfire—
Devouring your reticence
Engulfing my fears
Consuming our sanity
Our reason
Our virtue
We were madmen
Shouting down the street
The echoes of our hearts
Until we sizzle into nothingness
In the void of warm hugs
Laughter and
Kisses

It’s what love does most of the times, don’t you agree? Love turns us into a wildfire. 💕 Thank you, Ladylee. Have a great day!

Beautiful Maria. This poem definitely has that quality of ’emotional outburst.’ I like the words “sizzle into nothingness.” Like this is the zenith of their passion and love and they will burn each other out with the emotion. But instead, it grows stronger.
