Butterflies
A Free Verse
Fluttering wings, vibrant hues
Dancing under the sunny sky
When I look into those eyes
In my stomach they found their shrine
Scarlet cheeks— breathless
I’m swept away in a smile
Blushing ‘neath the warmth of your gaze
Restless, my heart’s on a race.

Argh i hate auto correct. My comment above should say: Oh wow i love that line about your stomach being a shrine. Take a bow for this excellent poem!

Ha! For a second, you almost got me hungry with the mention of ‘food’.. It’s okaaaay, auto correct really is a pain sometimes. 😂
And thanks for the kind words, Mel. This made my night 😘
