Until we walk down the street,
With your hand clasped in mine
The streets are no more streets
They are home to old memories.
Until the pavement of the road
Felt our feet side by side
The roads are no more roads
They are dreams frozen in time
Until the ink kissed the walls
With your name next to mine
The walls are no more walls
They are witnesses to our love.
The long winding stretch of
Crowd-filled streets,
The silence of the woods on
Dim lit roads,
The burst of vibrant colors on
Rough and cold walls,
Are no more than streets, roads, and walls-
Until they remind me of ‘You and I’

There’s a mix of melancholy and romantic in this poem. I absolutely love the words you chose to use “the ink kissed the walls” probably my favorite line. And what a beautiful word that you’ve shared, Maria!

There is love, but there is pain. I can feel it between your lovely words my dear. ❤
Where are you, Maria?
