Gigil is a Tagalog word which doesn’t have a direct English translation, but the meaning is something like having the uncontrollable urge to hug, kiss, squeeze or take a chunk out of someone because you find them endearing. It could also be the trembling or gritting of the teeth in response to a situation that overwhelms your self-control.
Bliss is rising up everyday
Everyday waking up next to you
You, with those bedroom eyes
Eyes glistening in delight
Delight in your sweet gentle kisses
Kisses that I never want to stop
Stop counting the passing seconds
Seconds that seemed to last forever
Forever, together—you and I
I am teeming with desire
Desire to hold you in these arms
Arms to squeeze you into a curl
Curl like the buds of morning glory
Glory, that’s what you are to me.
