A marriage doesn’t just drop from “’til death do us part” to “we’re getting divorce” in an instant. Carol and Lyle have been through the ups and downs, tried to fix things up but failed, until they decided that it’s best to end it.

Today, they’re sorting out what goes to whom. Carol, in her alpha mode, got to pick hers first. Of course, Lyle thought. He let her take the sala set, appliances, and cutleries. It was when she mentioned “garage”, that he shoot out the door and hurriedly haul their classic Model-T Ford into a flatbed trailer.

“Sorry, Hon! You can have the house but not this one.”
