Some of you don’t believe in me. Thinking I’m just a cherub with a bow and arrow; a mere figment of your imagination. Most, however, does still believe in my existence- some are happy, some are hopeful, some are impatient, while others blame me for a mismatch. But let me tell you this: I always pull my arrow at the right time and the right place towards the right people. And I never miss.
Take these two strangers for instance. Meredith, a charming ballerina who loves cats; and Rite, a kind, science geek who plays guitar. Today is their fated day. In this park, at that very bench for two.
Look closely.
***
Seconds later, a boy and a girl from opposite sides went for the red bench.
Locked gazes. Shy smiles.
***
Now that’s a good start. Nine years, nine months, and nine days later they’ll be walking down the aisle. But for now, I’ll leave the rest up to them.

This is really charming. I like the way nines are worked in to give the story extra magic. Fun story! 🙂

Awwee glad you enjoyed it! One of my friends just got married the day I wrote this story, those nines were exactly the number of days they were together. 😀 😀

Sweet Valentine’s Day story! I thought, 9 years, 9 days and 9 hours later they are walking down the isle – that sure seems like an awful long engagement! The important thing is, they found each other with the help of Cupid. Lovely story!

Aww… This is such a sweet and unique take on the prompt. Wonderfully lovely! 😀 I would never have thought of that! If I have the chance to see Cupid, I’ll ask what’s his success rate? Haha! Happy Valentine’s Day, Maria! 😀

Uh-uh… now that you mentioned it, I’m starting to wonder his success rate, too? It’s probably a little lower than expected because I haven’t found mine! I’m not bitter about it, I’m not.. well, may be just a little. HAHA . Happy Valentine’s Day, Fun!

I think his success rate is below expectation too! LOL! 😀 Maybe he needs some help from us! 😀 Don’t worry, you’ll find your Mr Right soon. Meanwhile, enjoy single hood as much as you can. I really miss those times! Haha! 😀 😀 Oops! Sssh! This is our secret… Mustn’t let my husband read this. 😀 😀 😀

Hmmm, I wonder what we could do to help? LOL! Yeah, I’ll be waiting (not in vain) for Mr. Right to appear in the corner. For the meantime, it’s cheers to being single (especially now that you’re saying how much you missed it)! YAY! And oh, don’t worry… your secret is safe with me Fun! 😀 😀 😀
