“Wait… what? What the… Shit! Oh shit! Shit! Shit!” Dr. Harry screamed fearfully as his gaze run the length of what now clearly appears to be his rib cage.
“My rib cage,” he blankly said, his eyes still perusing the insidious consequence of last night’s for-the-sake-of-madness experiment, “my hands… my feet… and are those toes?” Dumbfounded and weak, he sat in frustration, his fingers (now phalanges) touching the base of his head. “Great, now I’m touching my skull! What have I done?”
The night faded into day and the last thing he remembered was his 280lbs self standing 5ft 10, drinking a bright ruby red liquid from a vial. For years he has been trying to create the perfect weight-loss formula and last night was his ‘eureka’ night. He, Dr. Harry Sherman, has finally created the ultimate weight-loss solution, Klump.
“And what better way to find if it works than to try it on myself?” he lamented, “Now, how am I supposed to go back to normal?”

Here’s for Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers prompt. Today’s prompt was quite a challenge and I ended up with a movie-based fiction. I hope you all have seen the funny movie, The Nutty Professor. It’s the first thing that came to mind when I saw the photo. Also, it’s my first time trying to make a funny tale (my hopeless romantic soul cries), so forgive me if it doesn’t tickle! 🙂 🙂
Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers is a weekly writing challenge where a photo is used as a prompt for a piece of fiction using 150 (+/- 25 words). Thanks for the fun prompt, PJ! As always.

Nah, I don’t think so! You don’t need to be a skinny bone. 😀

LOL… Be careful what you seek. Seems that nutty professor found his weight loss formula. Marketing it might be a real pain though. Good story.

Funny! Too bad he O D’d on his own formula! It’s great to lose weight, but like anything else, too much of anything is not a good idea!

Surely not a good idea. I guess he could still fix the dosage of the formula but he’ll have to figure out a way on how to return to normal first! Lol! Thank you, Jessie. 🙂

What a clever story. Especially at this time of year when everyone is trying to lose weight. Ironic how he was trying to find the perfect weight lose cure and he found it, but not the cure he’d been hoping for. Lets hope the rest of us have a bit better luck. I think your guy is stuck a living skeleton, if he is still living?

That he is. I think he’ll remain a living skeleton for some time until he figure things out. Haha. True, most of us are trying to lose those weights we gain from the holidays. Let’s hope somebody makes a better weight-loss formula real soon. And thanks for dropping by, mandi! 🙂

That sounds like a powerful potion! I think he needs to work on it a little more before it can be used by anyone else, though. I hope he manages to find a way to reverse its effects. 🙂
