Behind the heap of morning newspapers, periodicals, and journals hides an unlikely little ruckus caused by Ben, Mark, and Drew who seemed to have taken poor Nicholas as their next victim to terrorize.
“Don’t get smart on us Nicholas. Shut your mouth!” Drew growled
“Little Nicky is scared, he’s gonna pee!” teased Ben
“Dude let’s do this quick before the head librarian comes back.” hushed Mark
Drew grabbed Nicholas by the collar, stared like a madman, and gave a menacing grin. “One question Nicholas. Just one and you’re free.”
“Anything. Just let me go.” cried a shaking voice
“Who died last?”
“Who died last in A Song of Ice and Fire?”
“No! Anything but that!”
“Tick tock Nicholas…”
“No. I swore an oath. Bibliophiles can’t tell movie buffs!”
“That’s it. Get the Nightshade!” Drew told Mark
“You’re not the only geek here Nicholas. My sister made a little something from her chemistry class. Now you’ll be our lab rat and sooner or later you’ll be screaming the name that I want.”
