He thought he found the perfect hiding spot,
…and a perfect spot it really is.
His name is Gus but he’s not your ordinary cat. He could still remember the day when he walked into this random yellow door and imposed his stay in the house where a family of five resides— a mother, a father, and three younglings.
But don’t get the wrong idea. He wasn’t adopted, he wasn’t even noticed. Ever. Gus considers himself a stray cat with a home. He was really not trying to hide. He just finds comfort behind the white drapes near the kitchen door. He even tries to bare his paws in the open for them to see but the humans always fail to do so.
Then one day Gus felt his situation’s not right and so he finally exclaimed, “Oh come on human! It is day 65 and you still haven’t realized I’m not a curtain! Geez.”

Funny story! I cannot imagine those paws not being noticed for 65 days, let alone the green eyes. Thank you Maria for writing for the MFtS challenge and I hope that you return for the next one. Be well… ^..^

I almost felt bad for Gus. Haha 🙂
I surely will. This is quite fun and playful since the first sentence of the story is given to us. Thanks Barbara.
Have a great day, Maria.

ha ha Gus sounds like the stray black cat that was already waiting for us when we first moved into our current home. We can’t ever catch and there he was, just come and go as he pleased but always managed to come back every time. Great story.
